Our journey with Flynn McGarry began in Los Angeles, where we met an 13-year-old culinary force cooking out of his childhood bedroom in the Valley. Years later, reuniting to photograph him for the cover of The New York Times Magazine marked a pivotal moment in his evolution. From Gem on the Lower East Side to his newest venture, Cove, we’ve had the privilege of documenting his growth — a long-form portrait of discipline, creativity, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.





































The R1T and R1S carried us north: Roger, Octavia, Romeo energizing every mile, with Leo and Ollie in tow. We swam in the sea, ate endless lobster rolls, picked sun-warmed blueberries, watched for sharks, and on that electric oyster boat, Ollie found his first taste of the ocean. Ice cream, beaches, and every bite—we drove through a Maine summer we’ll never forget.
